New whiskey bar opened in South Bend Monday

South Bend, Ind. A new place to enjoy a few sips of whiskey in Downtown South Bend has opened. The Exchange opened Monday, and serves over 150 different kinds of the alcohol.

If you are not a whiskey fan, do not worry. The bar has other alcohol, wine and craft beer too. Owner Kurt Janowsky, is also the owner of Café Navarre, and says he got the idea for the bar's theme, when he took a look at the inside of the old bank building.

“We felt the building looked like a prohibition era speakeasy or saloon from the 30’s so the whiskey thing worked and there is not one present in our market,” says Kurt Janowsky the owner of The Exchange.

The Exchange is open from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday thru Saturday. You can find it at 112 West Jefferson.
