ELKHART, Ind.--- In Elkhart County they're casting their votes a little differently this time around.
Elkhart County is one of nine counties implementing new vote centers for the 2014 primary election.
The centers have lost the old system of searching through books for voters names. They now have access to them electronically with hopes of expediting the voting process.
Indiana Secretary of State Connie Lawson was on hand to speak with the poll workers about the new system and how it affects members of the community.
“It seems to be going well. The poll workers definitely love it, and in the counties that have vote center options as we talk to voters we're finding out that they like it as well,” said Lawson.
There are currently 16 counties with the vote center option in Indiana, and Bartholomew County will become the 17th in January 2015.
