Watch out Starbucks and McDonalds, there's a new coffee king coming to town.
Construction on a strip mall near the corner of Indiana State Road 933 and Cleveland Rd. in Roseland is wrapping-up. By mid-November, a Jimmy John's, Little Caeser's, Sports Clips and Dunkin' Donuts will open their doors to customers.
"For the past year we've had people banging on our door asking when it's going to happen. It took us a little bit longer than we thought it would, but we love our location and we're excited about getting this thing going,” Jimmy John’s and Dunkin' Donuts franchise owner Andy Knapick said.
Until now, St. Joseph County Dunkin' Donuts fans had to drive to Goshen or St. Joseph, Mich. to enjoy that savory hot cup of Jo, not anymore.
"Dunkin' went away from a couple of markets for a few years, but now it's back. It’s a great brand that I grew up on, that my family grew up on and we're happy to be able to bring it back to South Bend,” Knapick added.
Jimmy John's and Dunkin' will both be equipped with dining areas and drive-thru windows. Although store hours are still being worked out, Dunkin' is slated to be open 24-7.
"Competition is good; it makes you bring your A-game every single day so you can earn the customer's business. We think it's healthy for the economy and hopefully people like our product and like our service,
Over the next few years, Dunkin' Donuts plans on opening around a dozen more stores across northern Indiana and southwest Michigan. The next franchise, scheduled to open in February, will be located along S. Michigan St. in South Bend.
