New restaurant opens in South Bend

South Bend, Ind. Another South Bend restaurant is officially open for business. The brand new Woochi Japanese Fusion Restaurant and bar is located at 123 West Washington Street.

Tuesday the mayor, fellow restaurant owners and other folks came out to support its official opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The owners say it's a great location, and hope they will get a lot of business, especially on game days.

On this first official day of being open, a steady flow of people heading into the restaurant during the lunch hour.

“We are the first and only Japanese and Chinese restaurant here,” says the restaurant manager Jeremy Young. “Secondly, from the design, the decor we have tried to make this restaurant look different. For first time sushi triers we always suggest them to try a King Kong Roll, Godzilla Roll or a Volcano Roll and they are deep fried so there is no raw fish in there.”

The same people running Woochi already have a Japanese restaurant in Mishawaka called Zing.
