New owners working to re-start production at ethanol plant

South Bend, Ind. The new owners of the ethanol plant in South Bend came a step closer to re-starting production. A permit to discharge industrial wastewater Tuesday, was transferred from the new energy corporation to the new owners, Noble Americas L.L.C.

The matter was approved by the City's Board of Works Tuesday morning. New energy shut down production as the plant ended up in bankruptcy court. City officials say they believe that Noble Americas plans to re-start production sometime next year.
