ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- There's a new person in charge of overseeing St. Joseph County's plan for consolidating 911 call centers.
The new director will oversee the transition from four 911 centers to one.
South Bend Deputy Mayor Mark Neal said Monday night there is an equal number of full-time positions planned for the new center as there are at the existing other four centers.
South Bend will fund about $2 million of the $6 million operating budget for consolidating the center.
