A building that started out as a student dream has transformed into reality at Bethel College. Monday school officials celebrated the opening of the Sufficient Grounds Café and Campus Store.
Mishawaka Mayor Dave Wood was on hand Monday morning as the brand new $1.1 million facility was dedicated by administrators. Officials say the new "one-stop shop" will definitely fill a void on their campus.
“As the college has grown over the year, we've needed places where students can hang out,” said Shawn Holtgren the Vice President for Student Development. “And this provides a place not only where they can hang out together, but they can grab a bite to eat, pick out a book, hang out with a faculty member, but spend time in meaningful conversation with one another.”
Students and staff are already planning to hold social events like open mic night and acousitic-related performances inside the new facility.
