Nestle has recalled a popular children’s drink for possible Salmonella contamination.
The company is recalling Nesquik chocolate powder in the 10.9 ounce, 21.8 ounce, and 40.7 ounce canisters of the drink mix. Nestle was notified by their supplier that one of the ingredients used in the chocolate powder was recalled.
There are no reported cases of illness associated with the effected products, but consumers should still check the production code on the bottom of Nesquik canisters next to the expiration date.
Nestle’s recall is limited only to the Nesquik powder produced in early October, and all affected products have expiration dates of “best before October 2012.”
Anyone who purchased the potentially contaminated chocolate powder can return the product for a full refund, and can call Nestle Consumer Services at (800) 628-7679.
