There was some stunning testimony this afternoon in the Tarrence Lee murder trial Wednesday afternoon.
A South Bend woman took the stand and told the judge she is the mother of Lee's baby. Lee was apparently arrested at her apartment in Miami Hills in South Bend but living with his wife, Trina Winston, at Hickory Village in Mishawaka.
Today in court the mother of Lee's baby says she gave birth to their child earlier in the year in February. She told the Judge that Lee would stop by her apartment occasionally to see the baby and told her that he had a roommate he was sharing living expenses with at Hickory Village.
Trina Winston and Tarrence Lee got married in April this year. In August Winston's family reported her missing and Lee was charged for her murder.
Lee waved his right to a jury trial so Judge John Marnocha will decide his case with a bench trial.
Three witnesses are expected to take the stand including the doctor who conducted the autopsy for the Winston's body found outside of Chicago on October 23.
Dr. Steven Cina, the chief medical examiner for Cook County told the court his autopsy isn't concluded quite yet but will likely be "homicide by unspecified means" because of the severity of decomposition and replacement of the body.
The trial continues today and more witnesses are expected to be called.
