It was nearly a year ago when a jury convicted Tyrice Halliburton, 31, for the murder of his 23-year-old neighbor, Sheena Kiska.

Now, the Elkhart County man says the court made several mistakes during his trial.

Police say Halliburton killed Kiska after she came home to find him burglarizing her apartment in March, 2008.

Halliburton was sentenced to life in prison for stabbing the young mother of two more than 50 times.

According to the Elkhart Truth, Halliburton says the court erred in admitting photographs of the scene and different exhibits, as well as certain testimony during his trial.

He will present his arguments in the Indiana Supreme Court Thursday morning.
