St. Joseph County police were busy responding to multiple accidents near the bypass Thursday morning.
At around 8:00 a.m. police were called to 331 South, just south of the bypass to two car accident. Both drivers refused treatment from officials at the scene, but the two vehicles involved had to be towed.
Two and a half hours later at 10:30 a.m., police responded to a semi-truck incident on the bypass at Elm Road, just outside Mishawaka and found a semi had driven off the roadway.
The truck was heading east when a tire blew and the cab slid off the roadway. The driver sustained serious injuries, but no other vehicles were involved.
