Saturday afternoon storms brought the welcome sight and sound of rain hitting the windows of many Michiana homes and businesses.
While the shortlived downpour isn't likely to be a drought-buster, even temporary relief from the hot, dry weather is good news for our region especially for farmers, whose fields have been sizzling in severe drought conditions for weeks.
Some of Saturday's hardest-hit areas saw downed trees and power lines and even flooded streets.
