NEW CARLISLE, Ind. -- The Unforgotten Souls Motorcycle Club performed a “rose ride” for firefighter Jamie Middlebrook on Saturday. Middlebrook was killed fighting a fire August 5.

More than 150 riders drove past the New Carlisle fire station, one by one, dropping a single rose as they passed.

"The key today was to make sure the family and the department knew they were loved," motorcyclist Ron Brehmer said. "Hopefully they walked away, in the time when they have a hard time finding something to smile about, that they can walk away with a smile and know that people care for them and will be there for them if they need it."

Visitation for Middlebrook is Sunday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bethel College in Mishawaka, and the funeral is Monday at 11 a.m.

After the funeral, the procession will head south on Logan and west on Jefferson.

They'll turn onto Eddy, then Sample, Mayflower, SR 2, Timothy Road and US 20.
