Elkhart County Police are investigating a motorcycle crash that happened just before 10 p.m. Sunday on County Road 16 near County Road 1.
The motorcycle collided with a car, and the motorcyclist was thrown several feet.
Police say the motorcyclist was driving eastbound on County Road 16 approaching County Road 1 when it collided with a westbound Toyota Yaras. The driver of the Yaras reportedly tried to make a left turn onto County Road 1, turning in front of the motorcycle, and the motorcycle could not avoid the crash.
Shazzar Mack, 26, of Elkhart was thrown several feet from the motorcycle. He was taken to Memorial Hospital for his injuries. He was not wearing a helmet.
The driver of the Toyota, Jose Abarca Sanchez, 26, of Goshen was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was not hurt. He was ticketed for failure to yield the right of way.
This is the fourth vehicle crash involving motorcycles in the past seven days. Three of the crashes were fatalities. Police caution drivers and motorcyclists to share the road safely.
