Morris Inn holds job Fair Wednesday

South Bend, Ind. After eight months of renovations, The Morris Inn will soon be back in business with nearly double the workforce.

But before the big August re-opening Notre Dame's iconic on-campus hotel and restaurant is looking to fill 50 to 75 new jobs.

Hundreds of prospective employees poured onto campus Wednesday for the second of two job fairs held this week.

Jordan Hall was buzzing with people applying, registering, and interviewing for a wide range of positions, including servers, cooks, valets, managers and other hotel services.

"We're looking from everything from an entry level positions with little experience,” says Lisa Yates the human resources consultant. “We are looking for those individuals that really have the heart of a servant that we can train to the positions. So, we look to - if we think about a sports analogy - to hire the athlete and train the sport."

Officials say they've received more than 800 applications so far. They hope to have their final decisions made by sometime next week.
