ELKHART, Ind. Elkhart Mayor Dick Moore says he will run for a third term.

The Elkhart Truth reports the 79-year-old Moore says he wakes up invigorated and ready to serve the northern Indiana city, about 15 miles east of South Bend.

Moore said he is proud his administration has been able to preserve all public services even though the city has seen revenues drop $13 million over the past five years. The Democrat has in the past year vetoed a Republican-led budget plan and sewer proposal and is expected to disclose his fourth compromise proposal on the sewer dispute.

State Rep. Tim Neese has announced he will seek the Republican nomination to run for Elkhart mayor.
