Moment of silence held at the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center

St. Joseph Regional Medical Center paused for a prayer and remembrance in a ceremony Tuesday morning in Mishawaka.

Everyone was invited to remember those who were lost.

The hospital read scripture and offered prayers for peace before a noon mass.

The event took place at the World Trade Center Memorial in the hospital lobby, a place some say reflects the atmosphere of that somber day 11 years ago.

"The reality is that we care for people who are hurting, and 9/11 is the epitome of the hurt that this nation has suffered,” says Father Aloysius, Director of Pastoral Care. “So for us it is something that we don't want to forget."
