Mishawaka Police search for a man involved with two armed robberies

Mishawaka Police are looking for a man they believe could be responsible for two armed robberies Monday night.

The first one happened at the "Mr. Fresh" Convenience Store in the 700 block of West Jefferson Boulevard, around 6:45. About a half an hour later, the "Studio Plus" Extended Stay Hotel on Main Street near Edison Lakes Parkway was also robbed.

Mishawaka Police say, in both cases, the suspect showed the clerk a weapon and demanded cash. At "Studio Plus", the attendant working the front desk was confronted by the man. He then fled on foot but possibly got into a car later.

No one was injured in either robbery. But based on his description police believe the two cases are related.

“Just the descriptions basically the size and description of the person do match so we believe it's the same person,” says Capt. Pasquale Rulli of the Mishawaka Police Department.

Police say the suspect is a black male in his late teens or early twenties. He was wearing all black, and had his face covered with a black bandana.
