Michiana students battle in Lego robotics tournament

Granger, Ind. Students put their technology skills to the test today, at the First Lego League robotics tournament Sunday at Discovery Middle School.

Kids ages 9-14 from 19 teams around the area tested out their robots before presenting to the judges.

The projects get kids learning about technology and building something from scratch.

Many spent weeks preparing and say they couldn't wait for the big day.

“Today is just real exciting since with everything going on from presentations to excitement when you're doing competition its really fun,” said Jonathan, a 5th grader at Madison Elementary.

This was the qualifying tournament for the regional competition.
