ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. In the wake of recent flu deaths in the St. Joseph County, hospitals like Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center are enforcing visitor restrictions.

Those restrictions include no visitors under the age of 18, only visits from healthy adults, and patients may only have two visitors at a time.

Restrictions will be enforced in the Plymouth, Mishawaka, and Elm Road facilities to protect patients, visitors and staff.

Lakeland, Starke and IU Health LaPorte are also turning away visitors who are under age 18. Many areas are limiting visitors to immediate family members of the patient.

Officials also suggest avoiding contact with those who are sick, washing your hands and covering your mouth to reduce the spread of the virus.
