South Bend, Ind. A construction project that's caused a rush hour headache for drivers for the past nine months is finally coming to an end.
Last August, crews began remodeling the Memorial Hospital skyway bridge which connects the hospital with a medical office complex to the east that houses three businesses.
But the $1.1 million makeover has led to constant traffic problems for folks traveling through downtown South Bend with Michigan Street reduced to one lane in each direction.
Yesterday, the barricades were taken down and the lane restrictions were lifted as workers wrapped up renovations to the bridge.
