Man who allegedly escaped jail sentenced for previous charges

The man who allegedly escaped from the St. Joseph County Jail has been sentenced for previous charges.

27-year-old Franklin Rice was behind bars for burglary. He was working in the jail's kitchen when he escaped in a bread truck on April 16, 2013.

Rice was charged with four counts of Burglary. He was sentenced to serve four years on each count.

Rice has additional charges pending for his alleged escape including Escape, a Class C felony and Criminal Conversion, a Class A misdemeanor.
