Man wanted in multiple states for credit card fraud nabbed near Niles

NIles, Mich. Michigan State Troopers in Niles are being credited with arresting a man wanted in a multi-state credit card fraud case.

The suspect was nabbed Tuesday night near interstates 196 and 94 in Benton Charter Township.

Niles state troopers were told he may be headed to Chicago in a rental car from the Kentwood area. Within five minutes, they had pulled him over and taken him into custody.

Police found around $1,000 worth of recently stolen jewelry, clothing and electronics inside the vehicle.

The man was wanted in a number of states for racking up more than $100,000 in fraudulent charges in the Portland and Seattle areas.

Surveillance footage released last month shows him and another suspect allegedly hitting up a coach outlet store in Oregon.

Police have not yet released his name but say he's in his late 20's and from Miami, Florida.
