Man severely injured in Elkhart Co. ATV crash

A man is severely injured after he crashed his ATV into a ravine in Elkhart County on Sunday.

The accident happened just after 4 pm near a wooded area in the 2600 block of Henke Street which is just northwest of Elkhart.

He flew off the ATV and landed about 25 feet away crashing head first into the ground.

Officials say that the man was transported to Elkhart Municipal Airport where he was then picked up by MedFlight.

The man was reportedly conscious but unable to feel anything from the chest down other than some tingling in his fingers.

There is no word on his current condition.
