St. Joseph A man who raped a woman in Benton Harbor while on parole from a murder sentence, is going back to prison.
William Saunders, 55, could serve up to 60 years behind bars for sexual assaulting a woman helping him transition from prison to community life back in September.
Saunders lived at a group home in Kalamazoo, when the woman offered him a ride to Berrien County.
He reportedly asked her to stop at a Benton Harbor park, where he raped her at knife point.
According to our reporting partners at the Herald-Palladium say she was arrested Tuesday at her home in Goshen.
Saunders pleaded no contest to the crime once arrested.
Before parole, he'd been serving 33 years for murdering his pregnant girlfriend.
