NILES, Mich.--- A 7-year-old child's savings were stolen from her piggy bank, and her uncle, who took the change, has learned his punishment.

David Monroe, 30, was given 15 months’ probation and 180 days in prison.

The "Niles Daily Star" reports, Monroe told the court his actions were selfish.

He took $30 from the piggy bank, reportedly to feed his drug addiction.
