William Karimu, 19, was charged with murdering Lois Hickey last month, the only problem, he was half-a-world away, arrested in the African nation of Sierra Leone. Now he's been extradited back to the states.
Hickey was found stabbed and beaten to death in her home on East Donaldson just after Christmas.
A tip from Crime Stoppers led police to Karimu. He denied any wrongdoing but submitted a DNA sample that matched some blood found at the crime scene.
Karimu lived just two houses down from Hickey and grew up in the neighborhood. His family is still there. He’s charged with murder, felony murder and burglary.
