Local resident attempts hundred-hole hike

It's a great day to head to the golf course.

While most people will play 18-hole, one man is playing 100.
Brian Jones is attempting the hundred-hole hike at South Bend Country Club. He started at 5:45 Monday morning.

Jones says the money he's raising will go to the Habitat Restore, where he's the executive board member for the store.

Jones said he knows it's going to be a tough haul, but his friend Donny Hill will be walking with him carrying his bag.

He got the idea from one of his friends who did this last year for a caddy that was paralyzed in a skiing accident.

“This year my friend Jim decided to do this on a national level with about 60 other guys walking 100 holes for a variety of different reasons so it's a really neat organization he started,” Jones said.

One round of golf is 18 holes, so Jones is playing about five and a half rounds today.
