Local schools earn Blue Ribbons

Less than a month into the new academic year, two locals schools have earned high honors.
The U.S. Secretary of Education recognized 269 schools with the National Blue Ribbon School of the Year award.
LaSalle Intermediate Academy in South Bend and Plymouth's Webster Elementary School both made the list, along with eight Indiana schools.
The department selects institutions based on overall academic excellence or improving student achievement levels.
