Local resident gets new trial date for a murder back in 2009

A South Bend man appeared in court again Tuesday for a new trial after he was found guilty of a murder back in 2009.

You may remember Brice Webb, who was 25 at the time, was charged with fatally shooting his girlfriend, Cherlyn Reyes, in their apartment.

He was sentenced to a total of 95 years in prison. He was sentenced to 65years for the murder and an additional 30 years for being a habitual offender.

The state Supreme Court ordered a new trial in the case. Webb stood in front of Judge Frese Tuesday to get his new date.

His trial is now scheduled to get underway on April 8, 2013.
