Local Goodwill hosted free fingerprinting event

The local Michiana Goodwill and Comcast are pairing up to help keep your kids safe. They hosted a free fingerprinting event for kids Saturday afternoon at the Grape Road Goodwill location.

The fingerprinting was quick and easy, and best of all it was free. The process was painless, no ink was used, and the photographs and prints were all digital. The event was hosted to help keep Mishawaka kids safe, and to provide parents with an easy way to have a permanent record on file.

"Well it's important because as a parent of young children, you need to have that information on file,” says Debie Coble the Vice President of Workforce Development Services. “While we are still a safe area, things happen. And things that you don't expect to happen, or can happen, no matter how careful and wonderful of a parent you are. And so, if you have this information, should anything ever happen to your child, you have a resource for the police that gives them a head start in locating your child."

Coble suggests you get your kids fingerprinted and identified yearly.
