Little leaguers try to beat the heat

A group of little leaguers tried to beat the heat with a few ball games.

These games went on, despite the high temperatures.

The kids prepared for their games by hydrating and spending most of the day indoors.

Not every team was playing in michiana today.

The Southside little league cancelled some of their games.

Parents say that decision should be left to the parents, who know their kids better than anyone.

“I think each parent has to decide for their child depending on their health concerns and depending on how they feel,” said one Little Leage Parent, Christina Ruszkowski. “But I think they are good to go, they are kids they're resilient and most kids are good to go and want to play ball.”

Ruszkowski says the parents were able to cheer on the team by staying in the shade and enjoying the slight breeze.
