The Indiana House of Representatives passed a bill requiring police officers to be trained on dealing with people with Alzheimer’s.

It passed unanimously, adding to training requirements on dealing with autism, mental illness, addiction and disabilities.

The bill was prompted when a 64-year-old Alzheimer's patient was tasered five times after refusing to get into an ambulance.

Medical experts predict that Alzheimer’s cases will double within the next 40 years.
