Learn about how to raise chickens at free workshop

On Friday night you can learn all about raising chickens.

And it comes at a good time for South Bend residents.

The city's urban chicken ordinance officially took effect at the beginning of this month. The application costs $20. Residents are asked to file their paperwork through the Department of Code Enforcement.

What's called the "Tour D' Cluck" will make a stop at Matthys Farm Market, located at 57754 Crumstown Highway in South Bend.

The free workshop runs from 6 to 8 p.m. Topics covered will include “Raising Poultry 101”. There will be door prizes, refreshments and family fun activities as well.
