The best female golfers from around the world are coming to Blackthorn Golf Club in South Bend this week.
On Monday, Michigan Street was renamed in their honor.
The street was changed to “Four Winds Invitational Drive” in honor of the tournament.
There will be 144 women from over 30 countries participating in this year’s event.
South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg unveiled the street sign at the corner of Michigan and Washington.
“We're really proud that the road to the LPGA goes right through South Bend, it's good for local business, it helps us show off Blackthorn which is a terrific city golf course, and it's a great way to boost professional women's sports which is growing in such an inspiring rate in the community,” said Buttigieg.
The tournament kicks off on Friday and runs through Sunday.
All proceeds from the event support Memorial Children’s Hospital.
