It may seem hard to believe, but we are already halfway through the month of October.

That means this year’s Kids Bowl Free Program will soon be coming to an end. The program allows children to bowl for free from June through October.

It serves more than one million kids and seven hundred thousand families across the country each year.

A few bowling alleys in Michiana take part in the program, including Strikes and Spares in Mishawaka. They say it is a great way to spend time with the whole family without breaking the bank.

“A lot of parents come here because we are indoor so it doesn't matter if it's cold or rainy, so it's just a great thing to do and we have other activities also and it brings everyone in and it’s a lot of fun,” said Cristine Cramer, office manager at Strikes and Spares.

Since the program was so successful, Strikes and Spares has extended it a little bit longer, through Dec. 15.

So if you signed up at the beginning of the summer, you still have a few weeks left to bowl that perfect 300.
