Kentwood church damaged following fire

A Michigan Catholic church went up in flames early Sunday and investigators are trying to determine if fireworks were to blame.

Flames shot in the air early Sunday as St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church burned to the ground.

The blaze destroyed the Kentwood church, causing five or six million dollars in damage.

Officials estimate the only things left standing were the walls.

Investigators say fireworks were going off in the neighborhood and they are trying to determine if they played a role in the fire.
