Kamm Island Fest held Wednesday evening

The revival of the annual Kamm Island Fest continued for a ninth year Wednesday evening. Hundreds came to Mishawaka to sample local restaurants during the adult-only event.

Many businesses use the popular festival to give people a sample of their menu in hopes to bring more people to Princess City restaurants.

“That's the idea, that they can bring in some new clients and make some contacts and see what Mishawaka has to offer,” says Stacy Vervynckt the Chair of the Kamm Island Fest. “Most of the restaurants are downtown restaurants, so come back and see what we have to offer.”

Some of Wednesday night's proceeds also go to area charities. Organizers say based on Wednesday night's success the Kamm Island Fest will be around for a 10th anniversary next year.
