Judge postpones deciding whether to release business owner from jail

Elkhart A man who's Elkhart business was raided by the FBI must stay in jail for now.

James LeDonne, 59, faces 17 charges, including mail fraud.

During Wednesday’s hearing, attorneys argued for four hours over whether LeDonne could be trusted to stay put if he was released from jail while waiting for his January trial.

Our reporting partners at the The Elkhart Truthsay the judge finally postponed that decision until July 25.

LeDonne is accused of a scheme to trick customers who placed orders with his business, Paragon Technologies. Court documents say LeDonne required deposits of up to 50% on orders, Then never delivered the products. He'd allegedly file for bankruptcy to avoid refunding customers.
