Notre Dame and USC will clash Saturday night at 8pm. If Notre Dame wins, they will play for the national championship.

It's as simple as that.

So did Brian Kelly think his team was capable of making this kind of run before the season? Jeff asked him that question in a 1-on-1 conversation for Countdown to kickoff this week.

“Well I believed that they were capable of finding a way to win because we had prepared so well," Kelly said. "The first two years our guys were incredible in the way they prepared for games, now we just didn't play well enough to win and I thought that the next step was if this team played well on Saturdays they would have a chance to win each and every week. And that's really all you look at when you're coming into the season. You go, I just want a chance to win and we found a way to win.”
