50 years of success at one Michiana community college equals a discount of 50 dollars per credit hour.
Ivy Tech of Elkhart County is offering tuition that's more than 50 percent off the regular rate. The school is going to offer 50 dollars per credit hour for the summer semester.
It’s provided by a scholarship fund started by Elkhart County couple Mervin and Dorothy Lung. Last summer they donated more than four million dollars, helping hundreds of students.
Now this summer Ivy Tech hopes more students will enroll, achieving Ivy Tech's mission of affordable education.
“In terms of stewards of public funds, this is really trying to keep education at its most affordable level,” says Chancellor Thomas Coley.
Students must apply for the Lung scholarship.
Only Elkhart County residents can qualify and those who do not receive financial aid.
Ivy Tech hopes to extend the program past the summer semester if possible.
