INDIANAPOLIS -- An Indianapolis native is ready to hit the stage in this week's finale of NBC’s "The Voice" and his hometown is rallying behind him.
Josh Kaufman is one of three finalists on the hit show.
Now, Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard has declared Monday "Josh Kaufman Day" in the Circle City.
He made the announcement in a tweet.
Kaufman will take on Jake Worthington and Christina Grimmie, and the winner will be announced Tuesday night.
“It's amazing how the nerves build up, I can feel my heart starting to race and of course that dramatic pause and it just feels like forever and you're just waiting and waiting,” Kaufman told our sister station, WTHR in Indianapolis.
Kaufman has been singing on-and-off his entire life.
He supports his wife and three kids by playing local gigs and working as an SAT prep tutor.
