Indiana superintendent receives golf course award

Golf course management company, KemperSports, presented Brad Fry with the 2012 Superintendent of the Year award at its annual leadership conference Wednesday night.

The award is given to one superintendent from the more than 100 Kempersports properties in the U.S. and abroad.

According to Steve Skinner, the company’s C.E.O., “He is a strong leader and consummate team player. We are fortunate to have him as part of our company."

Fry joined Harbor Shores in 2008 and has since played an integral role in helping the course achieve certification in the Michigan Turfgrass Environmental Stewardship Program.

The program is designed to prevent pollution and lower environmental risks on golf properties, fields, parks and school grounds. Certification requires compliance with environmental laws and elevated protection of natural resources.
