Talk about a bill that's out of this world!

Thursday afternoon members of the Indiana Senate were invited aboard the International Space Station.

Thanks to the wonders of technology, a phone conversation with NASA's Commander, Kevin Ford, was streamed lived from the Senate Chamber.

Naturally there was quite a delay but worth it for hundreds of students watching on-line.

Kevin Ford is a Hoosier and graduated from Notre Dame. Ford gave at least four examples of experiments the crew has worked on that involve the lack of gravity.

He talked with members of the Senate and answered questions from select students via telephone about everything from academics to his daily menu.

“One of the things I have is scrambled eggs and they come dried,” says Ford. “I have a needle and inject the hot water in there and you give it 15 minutes and then you have yourself some scrambled eggs!”

When asked about what he plans to do first when he gets home, Ford said take a shower! It's been more than one hundred days since he's had one.

He also said he'll have to do rehabilitation exercises since his body has become weak without gravity weighing him down.
