From heavy snow to freezing rain, Berrien County is experiencing Michiana's hard-to-predict weather to the fullest.
Thursday, Benton Harbor and St. Joseph expected heavy rainfall, in some cases, freezing rain and flooding. And while residents did see some rain and slush, it wasn't the worst case scenario.
The rain did melt the multitude of accumulated snow, causing quite a bit of water buildup in the streets. It slowed traffic down to an extent, but it wasn't anything residents prone to Michiana weather couldn't handle.
As of late afternoon, the roads were fairly mild, but street crews do warn commuters and those planning to hit the roads, to be safe and take it slow.
