I&M warns of possible scams

Indiana-Michigan Power is warning customers of telephone scammers. The company says scammers are falsely representing themselves as employees, in an attempt to collect money.

Here is what you need to watch out for; the caller will tell you that your electric will be cut off, if money is not paid immediately. They may say your electric meter needs to be replaced to avoid a fire, and to pay up.

I&M says it will not call and ask that a bill or fees be paid using a money order, or prepaid cash card. If you have questions, give them a call.
