Granger Community Church hosted its own BCS National Championship Game watch party Monday that was free and open to the public.

Around 800 people, roughly 30 percent non-church members, grabbed a comfy seat and took the 60 minute fight that ended in sore loss for the fighting Irish.

Although the Notre Dame plays were painful to watch, the aesthetic views didn't disappoint. The church's main projector measures 48-feet wide, with four side monitors sizing-in at 24 feet. The sanctuary, which has a capacity of nearly 2,000 people, also boasts speakers akin to high end concert halls.

"We've seen a few people walk in that are just blown away. They stop in the doorway and they're just stunned for a second, seeing how big the screens are. It's fun cause they keep walking in and they can sit down with other people and just have fun," Granger Community Church worship leader Trace Rorie said.

Church staff even altered the cafe menu, selling football fare like popcorn and hot dogs for the big night.

"We always want to be a place that's in tune with what the community is doing and what the heartbeat of the community is. So we thought, we have these screens here and we've got a great facility to host a lot people, let's show the game and provide a place for a lot of people to gather and have fun together," Rorie added.

Founded in 1986, Granger Community Church is attended by more than 5,500 people each week. That figure led Outreach Magazine to crown GCC as one of the 100 faster growing churches of the 21st Century.
