Human remains found in a Van Buren County woods in July 2011 are over 100 years old.
A tree trimming company found a human skull along 56th Avenue in Hartford underneath a rootball.
Later, the state police exhumed several more bones from the area.
The remains were sent to Michigan State University to be analyzed. The study concluded the bones were of a Native American male, and were at least 100 years old.
The remains have been turned over to the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians for internment on tribal lands.
