MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- A School City of Mishawaka support staff employee was booked into the St. Joseph County Jail Wednesday afternoon for sexual misconduct with a minor, vicarious sexual gratification and solicitation of a child.
The school corporation said Wednesday it suspended an employee without pay over allegations of an inappropriate relationship with a student. They would not release the employee's name.
School City released the following statement regarding the situation:
The school corporation has taken this action pending the outcome of an investigation by local law enforcement officers and school officials into an allegation of an inappropriate relationship between the support staff employee and an MHS student. School officials are presently unable to comment further regarding this matter due to the sensitive nature of the ongoing investigation.
Holy Cross College has since identified the man as 25-year-old Ryan Mouch. He works as a part-time pitching coach at the school. Holy Cross also suspended him without pay, pending an investigation.
They released the following statement on Wednesday:
Holy Cross College has been made aware by the local news media of the situation concerning Ryan Mouch, the college’s part-time assistant baseball coach. Mr. Mouch has been suspended without pay, pending the outcome of the investigation. Presently, the college is unable to comment further regarding this matter.
The St. Joseph County Prosecutor's office says formal charges haven't been filed against Mouch. They have 48 hours to do so.
