A South Bend man, already facing charges for the carjacking of two Holy Cross students, faces domestic battery charges also.

Wednesday the St. Joseph County Prosecutor's office filed charges against Hakeen Hogan, 20, of South Bend.

He’s accused of beating the mother of his child Tuesday night in the 1300 block of Campeau Street. Police say they found the woman sitting on the street with two large bumps on her forehead. In court documents she told police Hogan started arguing with her when he saw her talking to another man. She told police he hit her on the head and also slammed her head against the floor.

After officers were able to locate Hogan, while trying to put him in the patrol car to be transported to the St. Joseph County jail, he allegedly became irate and kicked the patrol car door. The door then struck the officers hand causing him pain.

Hogan is charged with Domestic Battery, a class A misdemeanor, and Battery to an Officer, a
class D felony.

Bond has been set at $200,000.

Hogan is also charged with the carjacking of two Holy Cross students back in September of 2009.

He is awaiting trial on that case which is set for September 14, 2012.
